Can I go to an optical store to buy contact lenses without insurance?

November 18th, 2009 | by admin |

I want to buy green contact lenses from an optical store with cash,(preferably FreshLook or Accuvue) without the whole insurance thing. Can I actually do that, or due I have to give them my insurace information?

Yes, I’ve been buying contacts for years now and I don’t have eye insurance.

Yes, you can cover the expense out-of-pocket.

But you still do need to show them that you have a current prescription on hand to wear them, otherwise they may refuse to sell them to you.

Not everyone has insurance. If you have cash you can buy just about anything
