Do you know where I can buy contact lenses without prescription?
November 27th, 2009 | by admin |I need to buy contact lenses but I do not have any prescription from the doctor, because we do not need any prescription in my country. But they need the prescription is the us. so can anyone tell me where i can buy the contact lenses with any rx?? thanks
If you are trying to buy contact lenses in the US (regardless of your country of origin) you will need a valid prescription. To get a valid prescription you must see an eye doctor. In most states contact lens prescriptions are valid for one year. Therefore you must maintain annual eye exams to monitor eye health and if there are any changes to your contact lens prescription.
A contact lens is a medical device. If it’s not properly prescribed, you may not see well. More importantly, a poorly fitting lens — or one made from a material not well-suited to your eyes — could result in discomfort, inflammation, swelling, abrasion, or another problem that could, in rare cases, result in permanent eye tissue damage.
If you are in the US it is actually illegal for any store to sell contact lenses without a valid prescription…. so it doesn’t matter the laws from the country you are from….. anyways it would be a good idea to go for an eye exam anyways to make sure your eyes are healthy and if there are any changes to your prescription. Then you will have a valid prescription and you will be able to buy contact lenses in opticals/online etc…..
Good luck !
