Cosmetic contact lenses?

I have a pale green eye colour and have always envied those with dark brown eyes. I was wondering about possibly using cosmetic lenses to change the colour of my eyes – just to see what I would look like.

The question is, are they safe? I don’t want to ruin my eyes as my eyesight is perfectly fine. But I would like to see what my eyes would look like blue or brown.

yes,you could make your eyes brown but it is very expensive they are safe but I think it’s pointless changing your eye colour

I came across my purple contact lenses today. I bought them nearly two years ago and have hardly worn them. I have a Halloween party coming up and I think they would go great with what I’m wearing.
My contacts have been kept in their little case; when I opened it they were dry. So I carefully put them under warm water and put them in saline solution. They look and feel like they did when I first got them.I cant see anything wrong with them. I haven’t put them into my eye yet though. I’m thinking of wearing just one so I’ll have one purple and one green eye.
Would they still be fine to wear?

i’m looking to get some wild eyes contact lenses, but i want to know what they are like to wear before i do. are contacts easy to put in/take out? do they hurt? do you still have full vision? are they dangerous?

If u want to start wearing them , I suggest first using disposable ones. (I use Johnson&Johnson 1 -day Acuvue)The ones you wear for a day and through them the same day – since they are more hygienic. Dont get too excited and wear them for long hours. I was told not to wear them for more than 7hrs a day. Go slow, don’t start wearing them everyday.

When I first got them, it took me 20 min to put one in my eye. It can get a bit frustrating, but you’ll soon get used to it. If u have big eyes, it should be easier. And it isn’t hard to take them out at all. So don’t worry about pinching ure eyeball.

Actually, they’re more similar than you might think. Any contact lens has to be prescribed by an eye doctor because contacts are technically medical devices. Contacts come in many different sizes and fits, so your eye doctor has to select a lens that fits your eye properly and lets enough oxygen through. If your contacts don’t fit you correctly, serious damage to your eyes can occur. What you mean by cosmetic contacts is probably colored contacts that don’t have any power (prescription) in them. These can be fit and prescribed by your eye doctor as well.

I jost got my contacts exam last week. It was for cosmetic purposes too. It cost $129.00 with the exam and contacts included.

Yes you can. I am assuming that your contact lenses won’t be prescription, it’s just for the color. So it’s fine. Wear you glasses over.

I’ve seen cosmetic contact lenses online that say they last for 1 year, but what happens to them after a year? Do they shrivel up or something? And is there any way to make them last longer?

I don’t think they can’t be guaranteed sterile after a year.

i just bought new cosmetic contacts (non prescription) it took me about an hr to put them on but i finally did it. my left eye is fine but my right one still stings…also, do cosmetic contacts have a right and wrong side cuz they look the same both ways flipped. And do I need to buy contact solution to sit them in when I take them out, or will water work fine?

You may have irritated your eye it shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes to put them in if u know what ur doing. The contacts do have side if you look at it if its on the correct side the contact should have a bowl shape if its inside out the side look like they’re sticking out a bit. and yes your gonna need solution for the contacts water will make your eye sting when u put them in and also you need to let the soak in the solution it removes the germs from the lenses. you can make saline solution with water and salt (i dont know the exact mixture)but it real cheap in the store.,
