what’s the danger of wearing disposable contact lenses over the recommended number of weeks?

December 26th, 2009 | by admin |

i’ve been wearing 2 week disposable contact lenses for more than a month now and haven’t had any real problem. Just wondering if there is predisposition to bacterial deposition if I do so despite meticulous regular cleaning before and after each use.

bacteria or mold can get under the lens of the contact and cause a eye infection.

Chance of corneal ulcers and even worsening vision I have heard. Listen I had a 2 week pair for 3 years, still wearing them. Only problem I have is that the protein builds up and blurs vision. Also can cause infection, but Im broke and blind so I gotta take that chance.

You can get an infection called conjunctivitis if you leave them in too long. Also once I left mine in forever and one fell apart in my eye into a bunch of fragments, had to go to the eye doc and have them fish it out! Not good.
