Are there different exam procedures for daily-disposable and weekly-disposable contact lenses?

I was just wondering because my eye doctor never talked to me about daily-disposables, they only gave me a trial of weekly-disposables.

No, there is no difference in the exam. If you think that you might like daily disposables better, just go back and talk to your eye doctor about them. You might even be able to call him about it. I think most eye doctors do offer the weekly or bi-weekly disposables normally. There may be a reason why your eye doctor wanted you to have the weekly disposables, or it may be that the brand he/she prescribed doesn’t offer a daily disposable. Just call him/her or stop by, and see what you can find out.

How much will it cost to get your eyes checked with an optometrist?

I jost got my contacts exam last week. It was for cosmetic purposes too. It cost $129.00 with the exam and contacts included.
Clear contacts=$79.99
Color Contacts=$129.99
I got colored.

Where can you buy solutions for cleaning contact lenses (like Alcon OPTI-Free Express) in the US?

I’m going to the US and will need to buy contact lens solution when I arrive. Where should I go to? Will I need a prescription? If it helps, I’ll be in Raleigh, NC.

Do you have to go to opticians or are they available in grocery stores as well? I tried looking up Target but they don’t seem to sell any brands at all. If you could provide shop names it would be very helpful! Thanks!

Target does have it. No, you don’t need a prescription.
Pretty much any pharmacy store (CVS, Rite aid, Walgreens, Walmart, Target) will have it. :0)

Using 3-month disposable contact lenses with 30-day contact lense solution?

Is it safe to use 3-month disposable contacts with contact solution that says only to use with 1-month disposable contacts? I would like an answer from an optometrist or any other doctors that work with the eye. I don’t want to get an infection in my eyes or go blind or anything.
I recently read the box and it says not to store the contacts for more than 30 days without rinsing and resoaking them in the solution. The contact solution is Equate Multi-Purpose Solution.

That’s right, if you are storing the same lenses without wearing them, then you should change the solution after 30 days.

That doesn’t mean it can only be used for monthly contacts.

It’s fine to use with the contacts you have…that’s what it is meant for. Any disposable lenses.

What happens if i wear disposable contact lenses way after then what i’m suppose to.?

I sometimes wake up with what feels like a very dry eye or i can’t see clearly for a few seconds, i put on some antibiotics.
I know i have bacteria in my eyes because since it’s right on my eye i can see it slide around like what you see in a microscope.

Disposable contacts are only made to last as long as you are told to use them. Therefore, if you use them any longer than instructed, you are at a higher risk of getting eye infections and eye ulcers. If you do not wear them everyday, you can extend their wear time a little depending on how often you do wear them. If you wear your contacts on a daily basis (even if you keep them clean), you should dispose of them properly. You eyes are very important so take care of them. Think of it like this. You change your underwear everyday and you don’t want to over wear them. SAME AS CONTACTS.

Can you wear cosmetic (color) contact lens under prescription glasses?

I have prescription glasses and want to change my eye color for upcoming halloween. Also, where can i purchase some cosmetic lenses?

Yes you can. I am assuming that your contact lenses won’t be prescription, it’s just for the color. So it’s fine. Wear you glasses over.

You should ask your eye doctor if its OK to wear contact lenses. There are some very minor prescriptions available.

Sam’s Club is a great place to buy contacts. They have great deals especially if you buy a year’s supply in advance. I just paid $114 for a year of Optix contacts. You don’t have to be a member there, either.
